The apical maxillary palpomere is triangular and expanded towards the apex (Fig. 6E), a unique character among the genera of the tribe. Furthermore, members of the genus can be recognized by the following: clypeus triangular, strongly narrowed towards apex, with 2 apical teeth; frontal carina evident; mandibles tridentate; protibia with 3 teeth; males with protarsi not enlarged.
