. Eyes bare. Frons matt black with grey dusting increasing anteriorly, 9 frontal setulae increasing in length anteriorly at most one third length of orbital seta, a scattering of approximately 8 shorter interfrontal setulae. Orbital plate subshining black, bare apart from the orbital seta which is only slightly shorter than the medial vertical seta. Lunule black, without setulae. Anterior genal setulae forming a single row of 6 along mouth edge, all approximately the same length. Antennae entirely black, 1st flagellomere 1.5x longer than deep, with rounded apex. Arista faintly yellowish basally, with microscopic pubescence.

Thoracic dorsum shining black, only slightly dusted anteriorly, covered in setulae approximately one third length of orbital seta. Thoracic sclerites also shining black apart from some light dusting on the lower part of the katepisternum. Anepisternum with no apparent anterodorsal setae, four posterior setae arranged in a vertical row, remainder of sclerite with approximately 14 scattered, shorter setulae. Katepisternum bare apart three setae arranged laterally along dorsal margin, posterior two equally strong, the anterior weaker, sclerite otherwise bare. One seta on proepimeron and one on proepisternum. Scutellar disc slightly dusted, contrasting with shining thorax, four strong marginal setae. Calypteres white with dark fringe. Wings slightly whitish, veins yellow. Legs entirely black, fore and hind metatarsi with dark setulae ventrally.

: VL) large, almost square with eight long setulae posteroventrally, inner surface with a row of three setulae anteriorly. Outer margin of surstylus almost smooth, only a few slight serrations and a slightly serrated anterior projection, two similar sized prensisetae present posteroventrally, one lying slightly dorsal to the other. This is a dark species with dark fringes to the calypteres and dark ventral setulae on the tarsomeres. The shape of the apex of the hypoproct distinguishes it from other species with a square ventral lobe to the epandrium.
