General characteristics The genus is monotypic, so its diagnostic characters are the same as for the type-species; the most characteristic is a combination of deep and broad median pronotal depression, deeply sinuate and coarsely crenulate basal portions of pronotal sidesvery small but strongly transverse scutellum; crenulate basal part of sides of elytra; narrowly, obliquely bidenticulate; elytral apex and striatomarginate prosternal process. Many of these and other characters make the genus similar to Neotropical
