was described by Cameron (1926) for a single species

is one of the most easily recognizable genera of
<taxonomicName id="C96F4286CA512D9CF6BFB8A8825F49BF" lsidName="Amblyopinina" pageId="8" pageNumber="9" rank="subtribe" subtribe="Amblyopinina">Amblyopinina</taxonomicName>
due to its rather flat, small yellowish to brown body with very broad head having no neck constriction, and black combs in both sexes on the first mesotarsomere. The genus has wide distribution in the Oriental and Australo-Pacific regions and its species need revision which is not within the scope of this paper. Based on the study of type material of
<taxonomicName id="BA76A90D15A67FCBF58A61CC0539046E" class="Insecta" family="Staphylinidae" genus="Heterothops" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Heterothops mirus" order="Coleoptera" pageId="8" pageNumber="9" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="species" species="mirus">Heterothops mirus</taxonomicName>
kept at the South Australian Museum which fully matches the diagnosis of
<taxonomicName id="E329BE65AA714A4138892780F17DAE34" class="Insecta" family="Staphylinidae" genus="Ctenandropus" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Ctenandropus" order="Coleoptera" pageId="8" pageNumber="9" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Ctenandropus</taxonomicName>
, we propose the new combination

from LHI must be further verified, as stated above.
