The genus

is known from the Palaearctic, Afrotropical, Oriental and Nearctic regions. Two subgenera have been described, based on the fusion or separation of the genital field with the fourth coxae. However, according to

, this fusion is not suitable for discrimination of the subgenera. Consequently, the genus is now without subgeneric classification. From the
