This species is characterized by the fleshy, velutinous yellowish orange to pale orange plano-convex pileus, non-decurrent, conical light orange spines, central stipe, smaller broadly ellipsoid to obovoid basidiospores (7.028.87 × 5.518.03 µm) and basidia (32.3149.13 × 5.558.61 µm) with 14 sterigmata.
