The species is named after the late Richard Stuart Miller (19452021). Richs interests were mainly focused on “cantharoids”, most strongly on

Mandibles long, broad basal to the median strong retinaculum, thereafter long, thin, falciform. Maxillary palp 4-segmented; first palpomere robust, short; second elongate, cylindrical; third robust, intermediate in length between first two; fourth globular, apically pointed.
