The composite epithet of the specific name,

Hirayama, 1984 in sharing a significantly elongate gnathopod 1 in mature males, but differs in having stridulated ridges on the lateral surface of gnathopod 1 basis and pereopod 3 coxa, which are arranged along the ventral margin in both sexes. Also,
