This species ranges from the Labrador coast and Baffin Island to central Alaska, south at least to central British Columbia (Summit Lake, CNC); isolated on the Adirondack Mountains of New York, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and the Shickshock Mountains in

Peninsula [see Ball 1963: Fig. 8; Nielsen et al. 1987: Fig. 17d; Ball and Currie 1997: Fig. 2]. Fossil remnants of this species, dated between about 16,700 and 18,100 years B.P., have been unearthed in southeastern Iowa (Baker et al. 1986: 96).
