First branchia with one branchial filament, shorter than notopodial cirri, maximum number of branchial filaments 712, reached at chaetigers 1222. Most branchiae longer than notopodial cirri, branchial filaments longer than notopodial cirri and central axis of branchiae; branchiae decreasing in length and number of branchial filaments along mid region of distribution. Branchial central axis slender, tapering in all branchiae.</paragraph>
<paragraph id="8B85E638FFAD223AFF45FE7F1534FD24" blockId="17.[151,1437,151,1749]" pageId="17" pageNumber="168">All chaetal lobes rounded, with aciculae emerging from dorsal half; all pre- and postchaetal lobes as transverse folds, shorter than chaetal lobes. Notopodial cirri basally inflated, tapering to pointed tips, anterior with 46 articulations, median with 34, and posterior with 23. Ventral cirri longer than chaetal lobes in all chaetigers; slender and digitiform until chaetiger 45 after that, cirri basally inflated and tapering to digitiform tips from chaetiger 56. Inflated base oval, decreasing in size around chaetiger 1938, after which digitiform tips are longer than anterior ones.</paragraph>

Both redescriptions differ in the presence of articulations in notopodial cirri, which are described as present by Hartman and absent by Fauchald.We have observed in our material that this feature is easily lost in poorly preserved specimens. Thus, the contrast among both redescriptions may be due to the state of preservation of the
<typeStatus id="5481589AFFAD223AFB1CFA55109DFA1E" box="[1182,1230,1438,1464]" pageId="17" pageNumber="168">type</typeStatus>
specimens almost 50 years later, when Fauchald examined it.
