The wing pattern distinguishes this genus from all other notodontid genera. The ground color on the forewing upperside is reddish brown, with a distinct bar in the distal cell; darker basal subbasal, antimedian, postmedian, and submarginal fasciae, the last two sharply angled in the subapical area; and a long sinuous subcostal fascia extending from the base to the apical angle.</paragraph>

Redescription.

: Antennae filiform, with hair tuft basally. Labial palpus strong, porrect, reaching just beyond frontal tuft.

: Forewing broad, apex slightly acute, termen evenly rounded. Sc separately to the costa; R1 separate from other branches of R; R3 and R4 stalked; R5 arising from end of accessory cell; M1 arising from apical angle of cell, M2 arising approximately midway between M1 and M3. Hindwing with Sc+R1 running separately to the costa; Rs and M1 with the same stalk arising from the apical angle of cell, M2 arising approximately between M1 and M3; CuP absent, 1A+2A and 3A present.

Male genitalia with uncus shallowly or broadly bifurcated; tegumen bandshaped; gnathos stout, well developed; valva stout, with basal half broader and gradually narrowed to distal half; aedeagus slender and longer; cornutus absent. Female genitalia with posterior apophysis about 2/3 as long as anterior apophysis; anterior lamella and posterior lamella membranous, ill developed; ductus bursa dilated at base, membranous; corpus bursa small and rounded, membranous; signum absent.
