Body oval, glossy surface. Labrum long, bent frontwards. Meso- and metatibiae with thick bristles across the lateral and ventral surface and a set of thick bristles on apex.

<paragraph id="946F36CDFF9DFFE4A282F2ADFAEEF8C6" blockId="3.[151,1437,1567,2024]" pageId="3" pageNumber="576">Head trapezoidal, declivous, wider than long, vertex tumid, punctures confluent forming wrinkles. Mandibular plates and clypeus subequal in length. Apices of mandibular plates rounded, separated by clypeus, lateral margins of mandibular plates sinuous; clypeus with apex rounded and disc tumid. Antennae five segmented. Ocelli posterior to imaginary line connecting hind margin of eyes, placed close to lateral margin of head. Labrum sinuous, bent frontwards (fig. 3A, l). Base of labium on imaginary line bisecting head at anterior limit of eyes.</paragraph>
<paragraph id="946F36CDFF9DFFE3A282F366FB70FE6B" blockId="3.[151,1437,1567,2024]" lastBlockId="4.[151,1437,151,896]" lastPageId="4" lastPageNumber="577" pageId="3" pageNumber="576">Pronotum wider than long, anterior half slightly declivous, punctures deep and sparse, denser on anterior margin, cicatrices flat; anterior margin concave behind head, anterior angles with small acute projections surpassing lateral limit of eyes; lateral margins slightly sinuous; posterolateral margins convex; humeral angles not produced. Scutellum longer than wide, surpassing middle of connexival segment V, punctures deep and sparse on disc, denser and sometimes confluent near lateral margins, smaller near anterior margin and on postfrenal lobe. Corium longer than scutellum, reaching connexival segment VI, punctures denser than on pronotum and scutellum, not forming wrinkles; membrane attaining apex of abdomen. Prosternum sulcate, mesosternum elevated with a median wide and furrowed carina, metasternum shallowly sulcate. Pro- and mesopleura with evenly distributed punctures, metapleura with few, irregularly distributed punctures. Mesopleural evaporatorium extending more than half the distance to the lateral margin of pleura; metapleural evaporatorium covering half of metapleura. Peritreme spout-shaped, reaching halfway to lateral edge of metapleural evaporatorium. Tibiae sulcate dorsally; meso- and metatibiae with thick bristles across the lateral and ventral surface, and with a set of thick bristles on apex (fig. 3B, tb). Third metatarsal segment of males and females convex dorsally. Abdomen ventrally convex; punctures denser on lateral third. Trichobothria laterad of imaginary line connecting lateral limit of spiracles.</paragraph>

Dorsal rim concave. Ventral rim U-shaped. Basal portion of segment X membranous. Phallus lacking conjunctiva.</paragraph>

Despite the absence of a dorsal sulcus on the third metatarsal segment on females,

bears the following features that support our proposition of classifying the genus in Ochlerini: cuticle strongly sclerotized and dark colored; base of labium on an imaginary line bisecting head at the anterior limit of eyes; female genital plates almost parallel to a transversal plane bisecting the body; posterior margin of female urosternite VII deeply excavated in caudal view, housing broad gonocoxites 8; laterotergites 9 touching each other and covering the segment X; segment X of males with a dorsal sclerotized projection posterior to the anal opening; and phallus heavily sclerotized and pigmented, and lacking a conjunctiva.
