species can be separated from congeners by the elytra shorter, extending to about base of abdominal segment I, broadly rounded apically; metatibiae with dense brush of suberect setae; and genae about 1/2 as long as lower eye lobe.

male specimens examined, the eyes are narrowly separated in front by about 7 ommatidia, while in females they are widely separated by more than 20 ommatidia, or about 2/3 width of an eye lobe.
