The new species is conspicuous for its large yellow median ocellus on a red brown face with black labrum and mandibles. It is characterized by the flattened tip of the male ninth abdominal tergite with a roughly triangular excision, which contains a pair of projections pointing mediad at base, then curved somewhat proximad and terminate into an acute black tooth at tip.
