This species was previously known only from the male
<typeStatus id="54D98870FFA6FFF3FC2A5D6DFC731D3F" box="[913,1011,1594,1619]" pageId="10" pageNumber="411" type="holotype">holotype</typeStatus>
(NMW). We have examined this, and a second specimen from
<collectingCountry id="F3757642FFA6FFF3FE0B5D0AFD971D1A" box="[432,535,1629,1654]" name="Australia" pageId="10" pageNumber="411">Australia</collectingCountry>
(see below). The female is unknown. The generic position of this species is not certain. The metasternal-metepisternal impression has a carina anteriorly which extends across both sclerites. This is absent in

because the pronotal emarginations are carinate both anteriorly and posteriorly, and the basal margin of the pronotum is wider than the anterior margin, the metacoxae are large and strongly projecting, and the fourth ventrite lacks spines. It is excluded from

The other characters of the species would not exclude it from that genus, but it may eventually have to be placed in a new genus, together with a second undescribed, but apparently related, species from
