B). Very thin cortex (2345 µm) that is barely visible to the naked eye: accumulation of spirasters/metasters reinforced by paratangential triaenes, oxeas and microxeas. The cortex is crossed by some oxeas I and II; they are responsible of the local hispidity. Ortho/dichotriaenes and deformed triaenes are present, more or less positioned radially with their cladomes tangential to the cortex. There are very few triaenes in the choanosome. Apart from bundles of oxeas mainly parallel to the surface, the arrangement of the spicules in the choanosome is confused. The position of microxeas is random. Streptasters are abundant and can be found in the whole choanosome. Oxeas II are absent in the choanosome.
