Hayward, 1897: 87. Type locality: &quot;Salt Lake [Millard County], Utah&quot; (original citation for the lectotype). Lectotype (♂), designated by Erwin (1984a: 172), in MCZ [# 16292]. Synonymy established by Erwin (1984a: 172). Etymology. The specific name was proposed for Samuel Henshaw [1852-1941], American entomologist, librarian, and biographer. Henshaw was assistant to Professor Alpheus Hyatt at Lowell Institute from 1876 to 1891 and worked at the Museum of Comparative Zoology from 1891 to 1927, first as assistant in entomology and librarian, then as curator, and finally as director.
