The species has a wide distribution ranging from the Gulf of California to
<collectingCountry id="03BA761DFFC8FF9FFB2DFB2A2EEFFB3A" box="[1167,1260,1244,1268]" name="Ecuador" pageId="6" pageNumber="457">Ecuador</collectingCountry>
(Brusca 1980). In tropical Mexican waters the records were made at several sites (see Rodríguez 2008). Our study provides data from two sites in the southern Mexican coast.
