This sharply bicoloured species (

, and five females have been studied from southeast Queensland, at Indooroopilly, Bribie Island, Barakula State Forest, and Bunya Mts. The anterior margin of the head is less vertical than in most species of the genus, the compound eyes are longer on the dorsal surface, and the tergites bear two pairs of wing-retaining setae, although the anterior pair is smaller than the posterior pair on each segment.
