This subspecies ranges from Mendocino County in California south to the northern parts of the Baja California Peninsula and southern Arizona (Ball and

1972: 482, Fig. 40); it also occurs on the Channel Islands. The record from
<normalizedToken originalValue="“Nevada”">&quot;Nevada&quot;</normalizedToken>
(Ball and

1972: 482) is doubtful. The subspecies is adventive in Hawaii (Liebherr and Zimmerman 2000: 465).
