The Northern
<taxonomicName authorityName="Gray" authorityYear="1825" box="[1135,1248,1924,1948]" class="Mammalia" family="Myrmecophagidae" genus="Tamandua" kingdom="Animalia" order="Pilosa" pageId="5" pageNumber="944" phylum="Chordata" rank="genus">Tamandua</taxonomicName>
is the only species of its genus in Central America (
