. This species is named in honour of Mr. Gerhard Scherer (Rottweil), a passionate beetlecollector, on the occasion of his 70th birthday. This patronym is seen as a recognition of Mr. Scherer´s family´s most generous support of systematic research and biodiversity conservation through their donation to BIOPAT e. V.
