The general appearance and most diagnostic features of the
<collectingCountry id="F362764AFF99130FFBC6FE4DFBB9FE48" box="[1027,1081,472,498]" name="Thailand" pageId="10" pageNumber="55">Thai</collectingCountry>
specimens correspond well to the original description of the nominate species except for one featurelarge number of denticles along postero-ventral valve margins. To evaluate the taxonomic significance of the latter feature, it is necessary to revise its variability in specimens from all the species' range.

Until recently, this species was known to be distributed from Middle Asia to

and
<collectingCountry id="F362764AFF99130FFF52FD35FF5AFD00" box="[151,218,672,698]" name="Japan" pageId="10" pageNumber="55">Japan</collectingCountry>
approximately within latitudes 30° and 45° N (

). Now it is found far to the south — in tropical South-East Asia, namely in Northeast

at 1518° S. Here it was found in low numbers in seven localities in provinces Nong Khai, Sakon Nakhon, Ubon Ratchathani, Yasothon, and Surin.
