This species ranges along the western part of Mediterranean coast of Anatolia and exhibits a great diversity both in morphology and song in the area (

). The populations in each of these geographic areas differ mainly by their songs, but also some morphological differences are observed. The partial geographically related differences in song and morphology allow us to put partial taxonomic borders between the “populations” and describe them as subspecies. Phenotypical differences among the forms are distinct and early genetic data (Çıplak

). Stridulatory teeth are conic at the proximal and at the distal part, and wide in the middle of the stridulatory file (

). The number of stridulatory teeth varies between 70 and 140 (differs between subspecies). Cerci cylindrical, roundly curved in their distal 2/3 or 1/4 (differs between subspecies), and weakly or visibly tapered distalward from the base, with a robust or sometimes pointed apex and 24 small denticles on their external margin (
