This species is known only from Hoek's original description. Hoek's

now looks as though its plates are not fully calcified and, although Hoek did not mentioned this in the text, he did stress the dificulty in discerning the limits of the plates covered by a thick chitinous membrane. The original description and the original figures appear to show fully calcified plates (
