Dorsal surface with obvious iridescent bloom. Head: Surface of frons with base sparsely punctate, disc and apex moderately densely punctate; punctures simple, unisetigerous; setae minute. Surface of clypeus moderately densely punctate; punctures simple, unisetigerous; setae minute or short (laterally). Clypeus laterally weakly bowed, apex truncate, corners square, beaded; bead weakly arcuate posteriorly. Labrum broadly emarginate at middle. Mandible with external edge rounded, inner apex with 2 teeth.

Male and female specimens in the

series were collected in different localities. Although the collecting localities are widely separated, we associated the male and female based on species­specific characters such as the form of the mentum (apex and palps) and maxilla (palp, stipes, and mala) as well as dorsal coloration (pronotum castaneous, elytra brown) and small size. Males and females of this species are similarly colored.
