is one of the easiest species to distinguish, due to its large, strong and erect, black scutellar spines. The scutum has a roughened surface medially and a transverse pruinose fascia. The surstyli are hairbrush-shaped and abruptly broadening apically, with numerous setulae on the inner margin of the broad apical section. The central infuscation of the wing is very dark in this species.
