Among the specimens examined there was considerable variation in the morphology of the anterior end, including upper and lower lips, visibility of segment 2, and position of first pair of notopodia in relation to the lower lip. We attribute such variation to different degrees of muscular contraction at the time of preservation and it is important to document this observation, because these characters are useful to distinguish among species.
