Body generally blackish brown, with indistinct markings on head, and with distinct yellowish markings on meso- and metathorax as well as on abdomen. Wings hyaline with pterostigma brown or black. Male ninth gonocoxite shell-like, somewhat wider than long, ventrally with a bristle tuft near posterior margin. Fused parameres (complex of fused gonocoxites, gonapophyses, and gonostyli 10) unpaired, flattened proximally, with a slender distal projection, which is slightly curved dorsad. Gonarcus (fused gonocoxites 11) shield-like, with posteriorly produced dorsal ridge, sometimes bearing posteriorly produced projections. Endophallus usually with a pair of bristle tufts. Female subgenital plate degenerated into a small ovoid sclerite.
