The specific name refers to the immortal bird of Greek mythology which obtains new life by arising from the ashes. The specimens designated as
<typeStatus id="D1B604DAFB96F34C7F58F7EDAFC6D167">holotype</typeStatus>
and
<typeStatus id="794691FACDBC9509D8779180732CEAC6">paratype</typeStatus>
were received by the first author before the Museu Nacional (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) fire in 2018. The name is in honor of this important museum that we hope arises from the ashes like a
