Pronotum in male with microsculpture consisting of fine isodiametric meshes along sides and of more or less obliterate, weakly transverse meshes on remaining surface; in female with microsculpture consisting throughout of distinct, more or less isodiametric meshes. Elytral microsculpture in both sexes consisting of isodiametric meshes in narrow area along basal borders and on two lateral intervals and of weakly transverse meshes on remaining surface; meshes in male fine, somewhat obliterate, in female distinct.</paragraph>

Comparatively large (HWmax/PWmax = 0.710.72 and HWmin/PWmax = 0.610.63), impunctate. Eyes small, weakly convex (HWmax/HWmin = 0.100.19). Tempora short, oblique, sloped to neck. Clypeus shallowly emarginate. Frontal foveae small, deepened; clypeo-ocular prolongations very short, usually only suggested. Clypeo-frontal suture very shallow, superficial. Supraorbital setigerous pore located at level of just behind hind margin of eyes, removed at a distance of about two diameters of pore from supraorbital furrows. Labrum shallowly emarginate apically. Apex of left mandible not truncate, only slightly blunted. Ligular sclerite almost not widened apically, truncate at apex. Antennae surpassing pronotal basal edge by approximately one apical antennomere, with narrow antennomeres 2 to 4 and rather wide (about 1.31.6 times as long as wide) antennomeres 5 to 10.</paragraph>

Transverse (PWmax/PL = 1.411.50), widest at beginning of second third, markedly narrowed basad (PWmax/PWmin = 1.201.26). Sides gently rounded anteriorly, distinctly sinuate in basal third, each with one setigerous pore in widest point; lateral bead not widened basally. Apical margin rather shallowly emarginate, bordered only laterally. Basal border nearly straight, at most somewhat rounded just at basal angles, distinctly bordered throughout, about as long as apical margin and noticeably shorter than elytral base between humeral angles. Apical angles acute, slightly protruded anteriad, blunt at apices. Basal angles right or obtuse, rather sharp at apices, without denticles. Pronotal disc moderately convex, slightly sloped towards basal angles and markedly so towards apical angles. Lateral furrows narrow up to basal angles, lateral depressions absent. Basal foveae small, oval or somewhat elongate, not deep, separated from lateral furrows and basal pronotal margin by convexities. Area between basal foveae slightly convex. Base of pronotum irregularly and vaguely punctate.</paragraph>
