The original two females of this species from

were examined, through the courtesy of Dr Shuji Okajima. However, it was not possible to arrange to compare these directly with specimens of

</taxonomicName>
at the same time. As indicated above, these two species described from opposite sides of the world are similar in colour and structure. They may represent a single species whose disjunct distribution results from the horticultural trade. In life, the head of this species is recessed into the pronotum (see fig. in

), but the slide mounting procedure results in a changed appearance (
