This distinctive genus is easily recognized by having a mesal projection on the frons. Currently 26 described species are known mainly from the Afrotropical Region. In Asia, eight species have hitherto been recorded (Schuh, 1984; Yasunaga, 2001; Zhang & Liu, 2010). However, most species appear to be rare, and biological information is still fragmentary for this unique genus.
