Colour. Black, with violet reflections. Frontal vitta and fronto-orbital plate shining black, with weak pruinosity laterally on lower fronto-orbital plate; face, parafacial and gena brown, yellowish on borders; parafacial with a silver pruinose patch on middle third; antenna brown with grey pruinosity, pedicel yellow, basal half of arista yellow; palpus yellow; mesonotum metallic black with a slight violet reflection and with one silverdusted central vitta in front of the acrostichals; legs brown with tarsi yellow; haltere yellow; calypters brown, upper calypter on outer half white and opaque; wing yellowish, with dark markings from base to tip of R1 and on r-m cross-vein. Abdomen without pruinosity.

Eyes bare, separated at level of anterior ocellus by about 0.340.41 of head width; frons parallel towards lunule; ocellar triangle with a pair of setae and a few setulae; 1214 pairs of weak frontal setae; fronto-orbital plate with 8 proclinate but no reclinate setulae; postpedicel 1.41.8 times the length of pedicel; pedicel with 2 weak setae and a few short setulae; arista plumose, with 1214 cilia, bare apicad, and with some secondary plumes as far as level of 1st cilium; vibrissa much shorter than arista; 1 supravibrissal seta, less than half the length of vibrissa, and a few setulae extending to level of middle of postpedicel; 5 weak subvibrissal setae followed by 7 genal setae. Palpus expanded at apex.</paragraph>

Acrostichals 0+1; dorsocentrals 0+2; intra-alars 1+1; presutural 1; prealar 1, strong, with 2 other setae below it; supra-alars 2; postpronotals 3; notopleuron with 2 long, subequal setae and covered with ground-setulae; postalars 2; no intrapostalar; scutellum with 1 basal, 1 subapical, and 1 apical pairs of setae, and latero-ventrally with many setae, the basalmost ones downcurved; postalar wall and suprasquamal ridge with short pile; proepisternal depression bare; proepimeron with about 4 long setae; prosternum broad and setulose; anepisternum with a posterior row of about 12 setae, without upcurved setae on upper-anterior corner, and covered with long setulae; katepisternals 0+1; anepimeron extensively setulose; katepimeron with some setulae; anatergite bare; katatergite setulose. Legs: fore femur with a complete posterodorsal row of weak setae, and a posteroventral row of setae on apical two-thirds becoming shorter basad; fore tibia with an anterodorsal row of short and weak setae, 1 dorsal preapical seta, 1 posteroventral apical seta, and ventral surface with a ctenidium of golden setulae; fore tarsus with a golden ctenidium and some long setae on basal segment; mid femur without a tubercle, with 3 posterior to posterodorsal preapical setae; mid tibia with an anterior row of very short setae, a dorsal row of very strong and short setulae, with 3 strong posteroventral setae on basal two-thirds, 1 anterodorsal, 1 dorsal and 1 posterodorsal preapical setae, and 1 anteroventral, 2 anterior and 2 ventral apical setae; hind femur with an anteroventral row of weak setae, of which 45 on apical third are stronger, an anterodorsal row of setae, and no posteroventral setae; hind tibia with 2 anterodorsal setae on middle third, a dorsal row of short but strong setulae, 1 weak but long posterior seta on middle third, 1 dorsal and 1 anterodorsal preapical setae, no apical setae, and a posterior brush-like ctenidium; hind tarsus with strong setae ventrally. Wing with a uniform covering of microtrichia; dm-cu almost straight; stem-vein bare before, and with 5 short setulae after, humeral cross-vein on dorsal surface, and ventrally with about 4 short setulae before humeral cross-vein; R2+3 bare on dorsal and ventral surfaces; R4+5 setulose from base to beyond r-m on dorsal surface and at base on ventral surface; 1 strong seta on basicosta.</paragraph>
