|
||
Puparia elongate in shape, nearly two times longer than wide and often found attached to the middle or side veins of the underside of leaves. Margin crenulate, slightly modified at caudal and thoracic tracheal pore opening areas, sometimes deflexed. Dorsum often tuberculate. Submargin not differentiated from the dorsal disc. Longitudinal and transverse moulting sutures reaching margin. Cephalothoracic and abdominal segment sutures distinct. Cephalic, first abdominal setae, meso- and metathoracic setae and subdorsal setae present or absent, eighth abdominal setae present, generally 3 pairs of setae present on anterior and posterior margins of the body or at least on the posterior margin, except

Caudal tracheal furrow covered with tubercles, which appear as transverse plates in slide-mounted puparia. Vasiform orifice trapezoidal, situated in an elongate pit; operculum subcordate, partially covering tip of lingula. Geminate pores present. Ventrally, thoracic tracheal folds without stipples but caudal tracheal fold with stipples. Pro-, meso- and metathorax may be accompanied with a longitudinal fold bearing many spinules. Ventral abdominal setae, setae at base of thoracic legs and spiracles present.
