Many males and females, possibly representing several species, are preserved in the collection of Heinrich Meybohm, all collected in
<collectingCountry id="D1DF761AFFE38A36FE3F35546369D856" box="[466,548,332,357]" name="Turkey" pageId="37" pageNumber="38">Turkey</collectingCountry>
. They include also specimens collected in the
<typeStatus id="76738828FFE38A36FBAA3555653AD856" box="[1095,1143,333,357]" pageId="37" pageNumber="38">type</typeStatus>
localities of the nominal species. However, males that differ considerably in body length and proportions of body parts have nearly identical aedeagi; differences are rather subtle, and on the basis of external characters it is difficult to assign specimens to 'morphospecies', because shapes and measurements seem to change gradually. It is either one or two highly variable species, or a complex of populations that has only recently started differentiating. A larger sample of specimens and molecular methods used along with morphological analysis should be used to clarify this problem.
