Anders Christian Jensen-Haarup (18631934) was a Danish entomologist specialized in

. In 1904, he traveled to
<collectingCountry id="F3757604FFE2DA04ADCFF98B5D7AF9E6" box="[658,781,1584,1610]" name="Argentina" pageId="9" pageNumber="10">Argentina</collectingCountry>
on an insect collecting expedition and spent most of his time in the province of
<collectingRegion id="49A6F876FFE2DA04AD1FF9EE5CCFF9C3" box="[578,696,1621,1647]" country="Argentina" name="Mendoza" pageId="9" pageNumber="10">Mendoza</collectingRegion>
. In 1906, he returned to
<collectingCountry id="F3757604FFE2DA04ACAAF9EE5A05F9C3" box="[1015,1138,1621,1647]" name="Argentina" pageId="9" pageNumber="10">Argentina</collectingCountry>
accompanied by his compatriot, colleague and friend Peter Jörgensen (18701937). Both naturalists made extensive collections of insects, which they had to sell to cover travel costs or send to specialists for identification (Rasmussen 2007). The specimens of his collection that were not sold or retained by some of their colleagues are currently housed at

. Jensen-Haarup died in

, aged 71.
