Head with dense vestiture of appressed brownish pubescence, a patch of dense white pubescence behind upper eye lobe. Punctures indistinct or hidden by pubescence. Frons slightly convex between eyes, with small median impression extending to vertex. Eyes clearly divided. Gena below lower eye lobe less than onethird height of lower lobe; upper eye lobes separated from each other by 1.3× width of a lobe. Antennomeres brownish, basal 3/4 of antennomeres IIIX covered with grayish-white pubescence; ventral surface of antennomeres IIIVIII with long sparse hairs. Antennomere III 1.3× length of scape, subsequent antennomeres gradually decreasing in length.</paragraph>
<paragraph id="8B9036A47B73184A3DF4BCCD49B5F9D3" blockId="2.[151,1437,1181,2034]" pageId="2" pageNumber="203">Prothorax cylindrical, as broad as long, distinctly narrower than elytral base; with dense white pubescence covering sides; pronotum covered with brownish pubescence and margins covered with dense white pubescence, pronotum without dorsal callus, tubercles or punctures. Prosternal process expanded at apex, less than half as wide as each coxa. Mesosternal process 1/3 as wide as each coxa. Mesepisternum, mesepimeron, metepisternum and lateral half of metasternum covered with dense white pubescence; central half of metasternum and ventrites covered with moderately dense grayish pubescence.</paragraph>
<paragraph id="8B9036A47B73184A3DF4BF2549B7F8AF" blockId="2.[151,1437,1181,2034]" pageId="2" pageNumber="203">Elytra covered with sutural band of dense white pubescence, laterally expanded in three projections, in basal third, medially and in distal third, remainder of elytral surface covered with moderately sparse brownish pubescence. Humeri slightly projecting anteriorly. Elytral apices narrowly rounded to suture, without spines. Elytron with sparse punctures on basal third, becoming inconspicuous at apical third. Scutellum rounded posteriorly, densely covered with white pubescence.</paragraph>

The species epithet is a genitive patronym in honor of Pe. Lauro Palú, for his work on the preservation of the RPPN Sanctuary of Caraça.
