examined here do not differ from
<taxonomicName id="8C6AF055C65FA8C04E1E1C5E35AA7D52" lsidName="C. fasciatus" pageId="24" pageNumber="99" rank="species" species="fasciatus">C. fasciatus</taxonomicName>
, a finding contrary to
<normalizedToken id="C4EE4005E28AC708269A8F9FD9687324" originalValue="Gorhams">Gorham's</normalizedToken>
observations on elytral fasciae differences between these two entities. The fasciae observed in individuals examined under the name
<taxonomicName id="2C80C90BF2D7507E5EF1834A151EBDAB" lsidName="C. fasciatus" pageId="24" pageNumber="99" rank="species" species="fasciatus">C. fasciatus</taxonomicName>
display slight differences in shape, color, and pattern (Figs 3A, 5D). These fasciae can range from dark testaceous to almost albus, and can extend from the elytral suture to the epipleural fold, to only a pair of spots on the median region of the elytral disc. Specimens of
<taxonomicName id="DC61B951AB32A18DF3B4F65074A8F0EF" lsidName="C. abdominalis" pageId="24" pageNumber="99" rank="species" species="abdominalis">C. abdominalis</taxonomicName>
examined here are consistent with this variation. Remaining characters were not variable for material of both species.
