Widely distributed in the eastern half of Northern America, and known from CT, IA, IN, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, ND, NH, NJ, NY, OH, ON, PA, PQ, TX, VA, VT, WI and WV (Bousquet and Larochelle 1993). The disjunct occurrence in
<collectingRegion id="49CEF83FFFDE5F29EBABFD775C1DFD18" box="[402,583,718,739]" country="Canada" name="British Columbia" pageId="3" pageNumber="381">British Columbia</collectingRegion>
may be the result of one or more separate western accidental introductions, with both coastal and inland localities being represented.
