This species is widespread. One of us (DCR) has seen material labeled “Blue Mountains, Washington” at the University of Oregon, but with no further data. Its distribution on Idaho is discussed in Rogers (2006). In Oregon and Idaho it seems to be primarily distributed in turbid, slightly alkaline pools in volcanic soils.
