In SK, specimens were captured on decaying and old polypore mushrooms in lodgepole pine and spruce-aspen habitats in March, July, August and September. One specimen was captured on snowbank in March. Elsewhere, adults were captured from May through August with most of the specimens taken in August (

). At the EMEND site (Alberta), adults of

(n = 519), like those of
<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Staphylinidae" genus="Oxypoda" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Oxypoda grandipennis" order="Coleoptera" pageId="41" pageNumber="86" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="species" species="grandipennis">Oxypoda grandipennis</taxonomicName>
, were found in all cover types and all retention treatments but were most abundant in unharvested stands (

was collected from May through August at EMEND (Alberta), however a few individuals were collected in May through July (

). This species was most abundant in August. Collecting methods: unbaited pitfall traps, sifting forest litter and processing it through Berlese funnels.
