Ecology and distribution: Perhaps this is a cold-water species, it has been reported from Spitsbergen and Finnmark (Cleve 1883) and Kara Sea (Cleve and Grunow 1891) and is widely spread in the Arctic (Witkowski et al. 2000). Its occurrence in Potter Cove may indicate its bipolar distribution. Rare in the material examined.</paragraph>
