noted, this species is very easy to distinguish from all other
<taxonomicName id="F5E57B82D8198F5D5DA9B40B7F7BBB5A" class="Insecta" family="Formicidae" genus="Myrmica" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Myrmica" order="Hymenoptera" pageId="8" pageNumber="93" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Myrmica</taxonomicName>
species due to its unique features, i.e. strongly reduced and simple non-pectinate spurs on the middle and hind tibiae, and somewhat developed ventral petiolar and postpetiolar processes. Moreover, the workers show another feature that very rarely occurs in
<taxonomicName id="BC690CABC16D8044634B295909F878F8" class="Insecta" family="Formicidae" genus="Myrmica" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Myrmica" order="Hymenoptera" pageId="8" pageNumber="93" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Myrmica</taxonomicName>
species: the base of the first gastral tergite is distinctly longitudinally striated.

and Radchenko et al. (2003a, 2010). These three important references are also not cited by Ma &amp; Xu, so that they missed the key features. After a careful comparison of the five workers paratype and one queen paratype of
<taxonomicName id="783413F53F293FA61A850A80E7BB4232" class="Insecta" family="Formicidae" genus="Myrmica" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Myrmica zhengi" order="Hymenoptera" pageId="8" pageNumber="93" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="species" species="zhengi">Myrmica zhengi</taxonomicName>
with the original morphological descriptions and the identified specimens of
<taxonomicName id="58FAAEA1051DD4B03D718773600106B6" class="Insecta" family="Formicidae" genus="Myrmica" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Myrmica luteola" order="Hymenoptera" pageId="8" pageNumber="93" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="species" species="luteola">Myrmica luteola</taxonomicName>
by Prof. Alexander G. Radchenko (Museum and Institute of Zoology Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland), we found no differences between them; therefore, we propose
