We report numerous living individuals of

Adams" baseAuthorityYear="1871" class="Bivalvia" family="Mytilidae" genus="Musculus" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Musculus viridulus" order="Mytilida" pageId="0" pageNumber="1" phylum="Mollusca" rank="species" species="viridulus">Musculus aff. viridulus</taxonomicName>
from the Mediterranean Israeli coastline. It is the first record of this Indo-Pacific species in the Mediterranean Sea. This species can be readily distinguished from the native
<taxonomicName id="864897A39E9FD3D48A3531CB6D976D4B" lsidName="M. costulatus" pageId="0" pageNumber="1" rank="species" species="costulatus">

because the latter has a more oval outline and a much smaller number of riblets at the same overall shell size (Figure
