The 2 species of this group are characterized by the male genital sac sclerite being of an unusual

). Additional features are the gula with 5 (much less often 4 or 6) setae on each side, female metanotum with 812 marginal setae and male with 610, metasternum with 68 setae, postspiracular setae shorter on III and VVI than on other segments, and tergite I with 914 marginal setae.
