Length 3 lines. - Black: the lateral angles of the vertex produced into stout acute spines; the metathorax bispi- nose. The head and thorax rugose; the antennae, eyes, mandibles, tibiae and tarsi, ferruginous; the eyes large and prominent; the clypeus produced, truncate anteriorly; the sides of the head behind the eyes serrated; beneath the lateral spines of the vertex are two smaller spines; the wings pale flavo-hyaline, the ner- vures scarcely discernible; the metathorax emarginate its entire width, with an acute spine at the lateral angles. The nodes of the abdomen rugose; the first node oblong-quadrate, the second nearly quadrate; the abdomen reddish at the base, and, as well as the nodes, thinly sprinkled with erect whitish hairs.</paragraph>
