|
||
Male. Head black in ground color, reddish on parafacial obliquely from upper anterior margin to lower eye margin and gena except genal dilation, pale yellowish on lower face and brownish on frontal vitta; dense grayish white pruinosity on fronto-orbital plate, parafacial, genal dilation, and occiput, pale yellowish white pruinosity on lower parafacial, face and gena except genal dilation; antenna brown-black, basal 1/5–1/6 of 1st flagellomere reddish brown; palpus reddish yellow to reddish brown, darkened on basal 1/2–3/4. Vertex 0.12–0.14 of head width; frontal vitta 1.5–1.7 times as wide as fronto-orbital plate at middle; parafacial weakly narrowed below, slightly narrower than 1st flagellomere at middle height; face weakly concave, lower margin warped forward, extending beyond base of vibrissa by about 2/3 length of pedicel; gena about 1/3 of eye height. Inner vertical seta long, about 3/4 of eye height; outer vertical seta fine or indistinguishable from upper occipital setae; ocellar seta fine hair-like, at most 1/2 as long as inner vertical seta; 2 rather fine reclinate orbital setae, about 2/3 as long as inner vertical seta; 9–11 fine and long frontal setae, lowest seta nearly level with middle of pedicel; frontoorbital plate with only several fine short black hairs among row of frontal setae; vibrissa inserted slightly above level of lower margin of face; facial ridge with several fine short hairs at most on its lower 1/5; 3–4 rather long subvibrissal setae. Antenna falling short of lower margin of face by about length of pedicel; pedicel bearing black hairs and a long seta, the latter about twice as long as pedicel; 1st flagellomere about 4 times as long pedicel; arista short pubescent, 1st aristomere shorter than wide, 2nd aristomere slightly longer than wide, 3rd thickened on basal 1/4. Palpus nearly cylindrical, only weakly widened near apex, nearly as long as pedicel and 1st flagellomere combined.

<paragraph id="8BF1369FDF146C0FFF175F37FAF7FD85" blockId="5.[151,1437,151,2015]" pageId="5" pageNumber="581">Thorax black in ground color, with rather dense grayish white pruinosity; dorsum with 5 broad longitudinal vittae, median vitta absent on presutural area and diffusing marginally on postsutural scutum, inner and outer vittae subequal in width and slightly narrower than pruinose portion between inner and outer vittae; pleura with thin grayish white pruinosity. All thoracic hairs black; 2 presutural and 3 postsutural acrostichal setae; 3 postsutural supra-alar setae, anterior seta shorter than anterior intra-alar seta and subequal in length to notopleural setae; scutellum with rather fine 2–4 discal setae, basal and subapical setae subequal in length and about twice as long as scutellum, apical seta slightly shorter than basal and subapical setae and about 1.5 times as long as scutellum.</paragraph>

<paragraph id="8BF1369FDF146C0FFF175C3CFE8CFD77" blockId="5.[151,1437,151,2015]" pageId="5" pageNumber="581">Wing hyaline, evenly and weakly tinged with pale brown; basicosta brown; lower calypter translucent pale brown. Costa between subcosta and vein R1 about 2/5 as long as distance between R1 and R2+3; bend of vein M rather obtuse angled, about 1.5 times close to wing margin than to dm-cu crossvein. Lower calypter with rather long fringe.</paragraph>

All leg hairs black; fore tibia with 1 very fine submedian anterodorsal and 2 fine and long posterior setae; mid tibia with 1–2 anterodorsal and 2–3 posterodorsal setae, if 2 anterodorsal setae present then upper seta fine and if 3 posterodorsal setae present then uppermost seta fine; hind tibia with a sparsely set row of short and fine anterodorsal setae, 2 strong submedian setae among them, and 2 strong posteroventral setae, and with 3 preapical dorsal setae, posterodorsal seta shorter than others; claws and pulvilli very long, almost as long as combined length of 4th and 5th tarsomeres.</paragraph>

<paragraph id="8BF1369FDF146C0FFF175DC9FDC6FB7F" blockId="5.[151,1437,151,2015]" pageId="5" pageNumber="581">Abdomen long ovate, black in ground color, entirely covered with rather dense grayish white or pale yellowish gray pruinosity, irregular spots appearing with direction of light on dorsum of 3rd to 5th tergites. Hairs on dorsum fine, short and suberect; syntergite 1+2 with 1 pair each of long and strong median marginal and lateral marginal setae; 3rd tergite with 1–2 pairs of median discal, one pair of long and strong median marginal and 3 pairs of lateral marginal setae; 4th tergite with one pair of long and strong median discal, 1–2 pairs of rather fine lateral discal and a row of strong marginal setae; 5th tergite with one pair of median discal, 1–2 pairs of lateral discal and a row of marginal setae; 2nd to 4th sternites rather well exposed, each with 2 pairs of rather long and strong marginal setae well distinguishable from normal hairs.</paragraph>

<paragraph id="8BF1369FDF146C0FFF175AA9FA1FFA7B" blockId="5.[151,1437,151,2015]" pageId="5" pageNumber="581">Male terminalia: Fifth sternite rather rounded in ventral view, ventromedian cleft widened anteriorly, with short fine hairs on posterior lobe; cerci in dorsal view widely separated and V-shaped on apical 1/2, lateral margin expanded and excavated on basal 1/3, then outwardly bulged, apex pointed, with dense long and strong hairs, in lateral view dorsal margin nearly straight and ventral margin excavated near middle, dorsal area of basal 1/3–1/5 expanded laterally, ventral 1/4 portion with dense and short hairs; surstylus very short, rounded apically, with short fine hairs; bacilliform sclerite very short; pregonite curved posteriorly near apex; postgonite overlapping pregonite on basal 2/3; distiphallus elongate, distal area expanded laterally; ejaculatory apodeme rather narrow fan-shaped.</paragraph>

Differing from male as follows: Vertex wider, about 0.24 of head width; frontal vitta slightly narrower than fronto-orbital plate at middle; outer vertical seta developed, about 1/2 as long as inner seta; 1 strong reclinate and inclinate orbital seta; 1 outwardly directed prevertical seta; 2 subequally long proclinate orbital setae about 3/4 as long as inner vertical seta; 7 rather strong frontal setae; 1st flagellomere about 3 times as long as pedicel; postsutural scutum with 3 broad longitudinal vittae, median vittae broad and forming a rectangular black spot; mid tibia with 2 anterodorsal and 1 strong ventral setae; claws and pulvilli shorter than 5th tarsomere. Female terminalia: 6th tergite entire, anterior margin ridged on dorsal portion, bearing a row of setae on posterior margin; 6th and 7th spiracles on posteroventral portion of 6th tergite; 6th sternite long, anterior 2/5 invaginated, with dense fine hairs on posterior portion, posteromedian margin roundly produced, with dense blunt wart-like protrusions; 7th tergite entire, posterior margin broadly excavated medially and posteromedian portion rather weakly produced, with a row of fine hairs on both sides; balloon-shaped lobe projected on posterior portion of 7th tergite, bearing microvilli; 7th sternite broad, nearly trapezoidal in ventral view, posteromedian portion weakly and roundly concave, with dense hairs on both sides; 8th tergite of quadrate hemitergites, without hair, dorsal margin dentate; 8th sternite narrowed posteriorly and strongly curved ventrally, with median longitudinal groove; epiproct rather large, without hair; cerci rather long and broad, with dense hairs.</paragraph>
