The shape of the frontal portion of the carapace might varied according to the angle at which it is observed and the posterior margin (apex) of the telson is often damaged, thus making it difficult to count the posterior spines. In addition, sometimes part of the postero-lateral spines might be regarded as posterior spines. For example, the diagnosis proposed by G.O. (Sars 1885) for
