Cells are Gram­staining­positive, non­flagellated and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, raised, entire and pale-yellow-colored after 2 days on R2A at 30°C. Positive for nitrate reduction, esculin hydrolysis and β­ga- lactosidase in API 20NE but negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease and gelatinase. D-Glucose, D-mannitol, D-mannose, D-maltose, gluconate, malate, citrate and phenylacetate are utilized. Does not utilize L-arabinose, N-acetyl-glucosamine, caprate and adipate.
